Oreo Ornament Cookies
Oreo Ornament Cookies
You're going to need a few main ingredients:
- Oreo cookies - I like to use the fun, holiday ones for Christmas
- candy coating - I used Ghirardelli melting wafers but also like to use Candiquik
- Reese's minis peanut butter cups
And then I pull out all those Christmas sprinkles and Christmas cookie decorations that I've compiled over the years and let my kids get to work.
Instruction:
- First you need to line a large baking sheet or your counter top with parchment paper.
- Melt the candy coating according to the package directions.
- Using a dipping tool or a fork, dip each Oreo cookie into the melted candy coating. Tap gently to remove the excess.
- Place a Reese's minis right on the top of the ornament and press gently.
- You have a little bit of time, but you'll want to sprinkle on the decorations within a few minutes of dipping the Oreo.
- I like to dip about four cookies and then let the kids decorate.
- You can use whatever small candies and sprinkles you have on hand. I think every single ornament turned out amazing! These look so pretty on a cookie tray - so bright and festive!
- If you're looking for a great recipe to have the kids help out with this holiday season, this is the one! They really can't mess it up - promise! No matter if they go overboard with the sprinkles, or only put on a couple decorations, the ornaments still come out looking pretty!
- What are you making for friends and family this year? I hope you're saving enough for you!
